WANA (Jan 13) – Major General Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, stressed that “the armed forces of Iran have everything they need to perform their duties.” He highlighted the ongoing military drills, unveilings, and deployments across Iran’s territory and its oceans, emphasizing the readiness and capacity of the Iranian forces. “The enemies of Islamic Iran shouldn’t gamble on their luck,” he warned.

At the Ceremony for the Delivery of 1,000 Strategic Drones to the Army, Mousavi noted that integrating drones into Iran’s military capabilities is just one aspect of the armed forces’ strengths. “Our armed forces are equipped in all domains – ground, air, sea, electronic warfare, missile defense, and everything else necessary to carry out their tasks effectively,” he explained.

He expressed satisfaction with the realization of the Supreme Leader’s directive on maintaining readiness and not losing time, highlighting the significant advances made in Iran’s military capabilities. “Based on field realities, we had to make new strides,” Mousavi continued. “Our scientists have incorporated new requirements and features into these drones.”

“Firstly, the air industry colleagues at the Ministry of Defense acted with revolutionary zeal and worked tirelessly to deliver this batch six months ahead of schedule, even though it was originally planned for the first quarter of 2025. Secondly, recent events and field realities prompted new demands, which were addressed by adapting our drones accordingly.”

Mousavi emphasized that the new drones possess capabilities that previous models lacked and are designed to be effective in both current and future battles. “Drones play a vital role in every aspect of warfare today, and there are no limitations in terms of numbers. The skilled scientists in defense industries and knowledge-based companies quickly turn defined needs into products.”

He further noted that the increasing capabilities of drones will continue to be integral to the armed forces. “The more capabilities drones have, the more the need for them will grow. We have a dedicated division within our forces focused on drone operations, and while there is no immediate plan to create a separate drone force, it may become a reality in the future as the capabilities of this unit continue to evolve.”
